Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") set out the basis on which KB Repairs Ltd ("we," "us," or "our") provides vehicle repair and related services to you ("you" or "your"). Authorising us to commence work on your vehicle indicates your acceptance of these Terms.

1. Repair Authorisation & Service Scope

  1. Work may commence upon receiving your verbal or written confirmation. This confirmation forms a contract subject to these Terms.

  2. We endeavour to perform all repairs with reasonable care and skill, subject to the age, condition, and pre-existing state of the vehicle.

  3. If potential additional damage or required repairs are identified during the repair process, we may pause work and seek further authorisation from you or your insurer. We aim to notify you promptly of any extra costs before proceeding.

  4. You may request to cancel services by phone or email up to 48 hours prior to scheduled work. If you cancel after work has commenced or after non-returnable parts have been ordered, you will remain liable for the cost of all labour performed and parts ordered up to the time of cancellation.

2. Parts & Materials

  1. We aim to use original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts where available and practical. However, depending on insurer guidelines, vehicle age, or availability, alternative parts may be used.

  2. Where requested, approved, or required by your insurer, recycled or used "Green Parts" may be fitted. Such parts are subject to third-party availability and supplier warranties. KB Repairs Ltd does not independently warrant recycled parts beyond the terms provided by the parts supplier.

  3. Parts availability is outside our direct control. We are not liable for completion delays, secondary costs, or rental charges resulting from manufacturer backorders or supplier delays.

3. Repair Timelines & Delays

  1. Any completion dates or timeframes provided are estimates only and are strictly non-binding.

  2. Estimated completion times may change due to factors including insurer approval delays, additional damage discovered during teardown, parts shortages, or events outside our control.

  3. While we aim to keep you informed of significant schedule changes, KB Repairs Ltd accepts no liability for loss of use, rental costs, inconvenience, or financial loss arising from repair delays.

4. Courtesy Vehicles

  1. Courtesy vehicles are subject to availability, operational discretion, and driver eligibility. Provision is not guaranteed.

  2. If a courtesy vehicle is provided, it is governed by a separate Courtesy Car Agreement. You may be responsible for fuel, mileage limits, tolls, and insurance excess in the event of damage to the courtesy vehicle.

5. Total Loss (Write-Off) Assessment

  1. If your insurer determines that the vehicle is a Total Loss (write-off), repair work will cease immediately. Handling, storage, and disposal of the vehicle will follow standard industry guidelines and instructions from your insurer. Storage or assessment fees incurred prior to total loss confirmation remain payable in accordance with insurer or customer agreements.

6. Payment, Lien & Storage Charges

  1. Prior to the release of your vehicle, you agree to pay all applicable charges, including:
    a. Policy excess amounts (voluntary or compulsory).
    b. Any VAT amounts not covered by your insurer.
    c. The total balance for private (non-insurance) repairs.

  2. Payments may be made via debit card or bank transfer. We reserve the right to decline credit payments or personal cheques.

  3. We reserve the right to retain possession of your vehicle (exercise a lien) until all outstanding balances related to the vehicle are paid in full.

  4. If a vehicle is not collected within 7 days of notification that repairs are complete (or work has ceased), we reserve the right to apply a daily storage fee until full payment and collection occur.

7. Vehicle History & Data Protection

  1. You must inform us of any known underlying mechanical, electrical, or structural defects prior to repair. We are not responsible for pre-existing faults or unnotified safety issues.

  2. Personal data (such as contact information, vehicle details, and photographs) is processed in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 for contract completion, quality control, and fraud prevention. Details are outlined in our Privacy Policy.

8. Consumer Rights & Updates

  1. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits statutory rights that cannot be lawfully excluded under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

  2. We reserve the right to update these Terms periodically to reflect changes in regulatory requirements or business practices.
